Controversial Victoria Police Arrest

Over the last few weeks, there has been footage of an arrest by Victoria Police all over the news. It seems that more and more, we turn on the news and there are similar incidents playing. All these incidents are being captured on video by people standing off to the side watching from a distance.

There is no doubt that police officers have a tough job. We appreciate all that they do.

Would you want to be the police officer in the footage? I am sure you would not want to be the people on the ground being kicked.

Does it appear to you that the subject's being arrested are complying? Are they fighting the officers?

Pingoatuk Kolola Gets Life Sentence

In 2007, Cst. Douglas Scott of the RCMP was killed in Kimmirut, on the southern shore of Baffin Island. The man arrested, accused and charged in the murder of Cst. Douglas Scott was Pingoatuk Kolola. Kolola has been found guilty of first degree murder and has received a life sentence with no chance of parole for 25 years.
